Manufacturer Description

This Apollo Valve 13-202 series steam relief valve is a safety valve for shielding small to average low-pressure steam heating boilers. It has a cast bronze body, a 10 pounds per square inch (psi) relief pressure, a 1" male National Pipe Thread (NPT) inlet connection and 1" female NPT outlet, and a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) seat. The valve's body and nozzle are bronze and the spring is steel for resistance to corrosion. The flat seat is a PTFE-faced disc for positive seal, resistance to moisture and high temperature levels, and positive drainage of condensate from the seat area. The valve can be utilized in running temperature levels up to 250 degrees F. This relief valve is American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) safety rated for Section IV heating boilers and is appropriate for low-pressure steam heating and supply boilers.

Relief valves remove excess pressure or vacuum from a system. The valve openings allow fluids or gases to escape to lower pressure, and afterwards close once the valve reaches the reseating pressure limitation. They also alleviate excess vacuum by opening to launch a gas into the system and afterwards closing after it reaches its low-pressure limitation. Some relief valves have a change system to set the pressure where the valve opens, making it appropriate for numerous applications. Relief valves are rated according to the volume of fluid or gas that can stream with them and the product that the valve is constructed from have to be appropriate for the fluid or gas, which would be corrosive or at a severe temperature, in which it runs. Relief valves are utilized in a range of applications, such as air compressors, petrochemical and chemical manufacturing, gas processing, and power generation.

Apollo Valves makes ball, mixing, and relief valves, actuators, water gauges, marine fittings, heating and plumbing products, and backflow avoidance. The business, started in 1928 and headquartered in Matthews, NC, meets worldwide conventional International Company for Standardization (ISO)/ IEC conventional 17025:2005.
