This Apollo Valve 14-200 series relief valve is a high capability steam safety valve. It has a cast bronze body, a 15 pounds per square inch (psi) relief pressure, a 2" male National Pipe Thread (NPT) inlet connection and 2" female NPT outlet, and a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coated disc. The valve's body and nozzle are brass and the spring is steel for resistance to corrosion. The seat is a PTFE-coated EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) O-ring for favorable seal, resistance to heats, and favorable drainage of condensate from the seat area. The valve has a 3/8" NPT side tapping for drain connection and can be utilized in operating temperature levels as much as 250 degrees F. This relief valve is American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) safety rated for Section IV heating boilers and is suitable for use with medium and large size commercial and commercial heating boilers.
Relief valves remove excess pressure or vacuum from a system. The valve openings allow fluids or gases to run away to lower pressure, then close once the valve reaches the reseating pressure limitation. They likewise relieve excess vacuum by opening to launch a gas into the system then closing after it reaches its low-pressure limitation. Some relief valves have an adjustment system to set the pressure where the valve opens, making it suitable for various applications. Relief valves are rated according to the volume of liquid or gas that can flow through them and the product that the valve is built from have to be suitable for the fluid or gas, which may be harsh or at a severe temperature, where it operates. Relief valves are utilized in a range of applications, such as air compressors, petrochemical and chemical production, gas processing, and power generation.
Apollo Valves manufactures round, mixing, and relief valves, actuators, water assesses, marine fittings, heating and plumbing products, and backflow prevention. The company, founded in 1928 and headquartered in Matthews, NC, meets worldwide standard International Company for Standardization (ISO)/ IEC standard 17025:2005.
