Manufacturer Description

This Control Devices SV-125 ASME security valve has a brass body, a 125 psi relief pressure, a 1/4" male NPT threaded inlet connection, and a stainless-steel pull ring for manual pressure relief. The valve's brass body, brass valve seat, and the zinc plated steel spring withstand deterioration and can be used in running temperature levels as much as 250 degrees F. The preset relief pressure is precise to within +/- 3 percent and a silicon O-ring provides a leak-proof seal to within +/- 10 percent of the relief pressure. This security valve is American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) security ranked and shows the UV mark for pressure vessel security valves. It also shows the NB mark for certification in accordance with NB-501, National Board Certification of Pressure Relief Devices. This security valve has a 116 cubic feet per minute (CFM) circulation rate and appropriates for low capacity pressure relief applications such as in house construction air compressors. Relief valves get rid of excess pressure or vacuum from a system. The valve openings enable fluids or gases to leave to reduce pressure, and after that close once the valve reaches the reseating pressure limitation. They also eliminate excess vacuum by opening to release a gas into the system and after that closing after it reaches its low-pressure limitation. Some relief valves have a modification mechanism to set the pressure where the valve opens, making it appropriate for numerous applications. Relief valves are ranked according to the volume of liquid or gas that can flow through them and the product that the valve is built from should be appropriate for the fluid or gas, which may be destructive or at an extreme temperature, in which it operates. Relief valves are used in a range of applications, such as air compressors, petrochemical and chemical manufacturing, natural gas processing, and power generation.
