Manufacturer Description

This Kerick SR03 stainless steel rod is 1/4" in diameter and 3" long. It is made from 18-8 stainless steel for resistance to corrosion and has 1/4"-20 male threads on each end. It is meant for use with 3/8" and 1/2" inlet float valves and 4 x 5" or 2 x 2 x 4" float balls (offered individually). As part of a float valve setup, it is suitable for use in a variety of applications, such as fountains, animals water tanks, and chemical factory.

Drift valves make use of a rod and float ball connected to a valve shutoff lever to regulate flow in or from a tank. The float ball rises or falls with the level of fluid in the tank, changing the angle of the valve shutoff lever. When the angle of the valve lever changes adequately, the valve opens or closes. Drift valves are rated according to the volume of fluid that can stream through them at a specific pressure to guarantee the tank can be filled up as quickly as it is emptied. The material that a float valve is constructed from should be suitable for the fluid where it operates, which may be corrosive or at a severe temperature level. Drift valves are utilized to immediately control the level of fluid within tanks in a variety of applications, such as fountains, animals water tanks, cooling towers, and chemical factory.

Kerick Valve manufactures fluid level control valves for industrial applications. The company, established in 1994, is headquartered in Jacksonville, FL.
